Grace Opens the Door — Will You Recognize It?

Grace Opens the Door — Will You Recognize It?

Reading: Isaiah 55:1-3 — An urgent invitation is extended to all who are spiritually hungry and thirsty; God calls people to come and receive what they cannot earn or purchase on their own.

Devotional:
One of the most sobering realities in Scripture is that it is entirely possible to be surrounded by the things of God and still miss God entirely. The religious leaders in Jerusalem heard the prophets read aloud every Sabbath. They knew the language, the rhythms, the traditions. And yet when the very Savior those scriptures described stood before them, they did not recognize him.

Familiarity can become a veil. Knowing the words of a song is not the same as knowing the God the song is about. Attendance is not surrender. Today, resist the comfort of religious routine and ask yourself whether grace has truly reached you — not your mind, but your life.

Reflection Questions:
  • Is there an area of your faith life where familiarity has replaced genuine encounter?
  • What would it look like for you to receive Jesus today as if for the first time?
Prayer Focus: Pray for fresh eyes to see what God is doing around you, and ask Him to remove any veil of familiarity that keeps you from genuine, life-changing faith.
