What God Has Cleansed
Reading: Acts 10:9-23
Devotional:
Peter received a vision he did not understand and a direction he had not asked for. The sheet came down three times, and still he was perplexed. But God did not wait for Peter's understanding before giving him his next instruction. He simply said, go downstairs. The vision was never really about food. It was about people.
God was dismantling the categories Peter had used his entire life to determine who was worthy of grace. No person is unclean. No person is outside the reach of God. No person has been written off.
The same grace that found you is pursuing someone you may have quietly decided was beyond reach. God has shown you otherwise.
Reflection Questions:
- Are there people in your life you have quietly categorized as too far gone or too different to receive grace?
- What boundaries in your own thinking might God be challenging right now?
- How does the truth that no person is unclean change the way you see the people around you?
