Leaving the Harbor

Leaving the Harbor

Reading: Acts 9:32-35

Devotional:

Peter did not wait for ministry to come to him. He got up and started moving. That single act of obedience placed him directly in the path of a miracle. The harbor is comfortable. It is known. It is safe. But God does not call you to stay anchored in what is familiar. He calls you to travel, to move through the regions where people are waiting for the grace that lives inside of you.

You are not merely the object of God's grace. You have been made a vessel of it. Aeneas had been paralyzed for eight years, and Peter was traveling when he found him. Ask yourself today: where is God calling you to simply start moving?

Reflection Questions:

  • What harbor are you currently unwilling to leave?
  • Is there someone in your immediate path who needs to encounter the grace of God through you?
  • What would it look like to take one step of movement in obedience this week?
