Day-by-Day Gladness
Day-by-Day Gladness
Reading: Philippians 4:4-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Devotional: "Day by day...they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart." This wasn't manufactured happiness or religious performance—it was unencumbered authenticity.
The same city that crucified their King now watched believers marked by inexplicable joy. Their joy wasn't rooted in circumstances but in Christ. Temple and table, pulpit and home, celebration and shared life—faith became everyday rhythm, not event-based religion.
When you loosen your grip on what you own, joy finally gets room to breathe. The ordinary became holy: meals became ministry, homes became sanctuaries, tables became altars. This sustained warmth wasn't emotional hype fading after music stopped—it was deep, shared, contagious joy carried together daily.
The world recognizes authentic joy it cannot manufacture or steal. Let your gladness be your testimony.
Reflection Question: Is your joy dependent on circumstances, or rooted in Christ regardless of situation?
