Grace Goes First
Grace Goes First
Reading: Acts 8:26-29 -- The account of the angel directing Philip southward to a desert road, and the Spirit then directing him to approach a specific chariot. Reflect on how God orchestrated every detail of this encounter before Philip had any plan of his own.
Devotional:
Before Philip had a strategy, God had a plan. Before the Ethiopian had a teacher, God had already sent one. This is the nature of divine grace -- it moves first. It does not wait for us to get our lives in order, clean up our record, or find our way to the right place. Grace finds us. Long before you were searching for God, he was already pursuing you. The question is not whether God is moving in your life today.
The question is whether you are willing to follow his direction even when it leads you away from what is familiar, comfortable, and successful. Philip left a revival to walk a desert road. What is God asking you to leave in order to follow his lead toward someone else?
Personal Reflection: Is there a prompting you have been ignoring because it did not make sense to your plans or your comfort?
Practical Application: Ask God today to make you sensitive to divine interruptions. When an unexpected nudge comes, resist the urge to explain it away.
