Stop Resisting What God Has Already Done

Stop Resisting What God Has Already Done

Reading: Acts 11:15-17 -- Peter recounts how the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles just as He had on the disciples at the beginning, and he asks who he was to stand in God's way.

Devotional: Peter did not argue his way into obedience. God's evidence was undeniable, and Peter simply reported what he witnessed. The Holy Spirit fell. Tongues were spoken. God moved. And Peter's only reasonable response was surrender.

We often exhaust ourselves asking God to conform to our expectations when He is calling us to conform to His. Resistance to what God has already done is not faithfulness -- it is pride wearing the costume of tradition. The most dangerous place for a person of faith is standing in the path of what God is actively doing. Yield. Adapt. Follow.
