Positioned to Hear
Positioned to Hear
Reading: Acts 13:1-2
Devotional: Before the rocket launches, every system must be checked and cleared. The leaders at Antioch were prophets and teachers -- gifted, capable, experienced -- yet Luke does not linger on their abilities. He lingers on their posture. They were worshiping and fasting, ministering to the Lord before they ministered to anyone else. Worship is not a warm-up act. It is the ministry itself.
Fasting does not manipulate God into speaking; it positions us to hear what He is already saying. Before God entrusts you with a mission, He invites you into consecration. Ask yourself today: Is my attention fixed upward before it reaches outward?
