The God of the Sudden

Reading: Acts 12:6-11; Isaiah 43:18-19

Isaiah 43:18-19 speaks of a God who does something new, who makes a way where there is no way. Peter was chained between two soldiers, doors guarded, execution scheduled for morning. Every human option had expired. Then suddenly, light entered the darkness, chains fell, gates opened, and Peter stood in the street a free man.

God did not break the chains — He simply removed them. He did not force the gate — He opened it. When you are at the end of the line, God is not. His suddenly can arrive in the darkest, final moment. Expect Him.
