The Power of Persistent Prayer

Reading: Acts 12:5; Philippians 4:6-7; James 5:16

Philippians 4:6-7 calls believers to bring every anxiety to God through prayer and thanksgiving, with the promise of a peace that surpasses understanding. James 5:16 describes the prayer of a righteous person as powerful and effective. In Acts 12:5, the church prayed specifically, persistently, fervently, and together for Peter. They were helpless but not hopeless. Prayer is not a last resort — it is access to the highest authority.

When circumstances are beyond your control, pray. When doors are closed, pray. When earthly powers seem to hold every advantage, pray. Helplessness before men is never helplessness before God.
