When Power Attacks
When Power Attacks
Reading: Acts 12:1-4
Devotional: Herod had every visible advantage — a throne, an army, a prison, and a crowd. James was killed. Peter was chained. From the outside, it looked like earthly power had the final word. But visible power is not always ultimate power. History is filled with moments when those who held all the cards suddenly lost everything, while ordinary people in ordinary rooms remained standing.
When forces beyond your control press against you, remember this: having power in the moment does not mean controlling the outcome. God governs outcomes. Trust the One who holds tomorrow, not the ones who merely hold today.
